Lg Air Conditioners

We like to cool our bedroom more than the rest of the house. We want to get a portable air conditioner, but should we get the size for the room or just a small unit to cool the room an extra few degrees. This room is at the far end of the house from the central air unit and the thermostat. How do we figure the BTU’s for this situation?

I’ve had several of these smaller window air conditioner units (around 5000-6000BTU) die from brands like Kenmore and Goldstar over the past 2-3 years and ends up just blowing hot air. Air conditioner repair places charge quite a bit to fix these and really it’s not worth it when you can just go out and get another one for basically the same price. I would love to get a larger unit however the window in this room is tiny and max I can fit is maybe 6000-7000btu. I’m wanting to get something that has a little better build quality to it and will last for longer amounts of time so I’m researching at local home improvement stores. They sell brands such as LG and Frigidare and Haier units that have energy saving capabilities. Does anyone know what is good out of these brands? I’m really wanting one that has auto shut off and temperature control.

My split system air conditioner began to link while cooling a room at 20 degrees celsius, so, I cleaned the filter (it had been about 6 months) and it was filthy!! What would cause an air conditioner filter to become so dirty? It is an indoors unit of course.

The leaking has now stopped. However, would the leaking water from the air conditioner or the dirty filters cause any health issues or any kind?

My floor is getting soaked due to the window air conditioner spitting out water. It has been cleaned out already so its not that.

The water was leaking from my air conditioner and when I found out it was to late. The water actually got on the plug and the plug has a circuit breaker on it. Everytime I put it in the wall now it trips on its circuit breaker, not the socket here at our house. When it dries will it work again or will I have to buy a new air conditioner?

My air conditioner only works on warming up the house but not cooling down the house,what would be the problem.

So I have a window air conditioner now but the home owners association says you cant have anything out of the window. So will it still work if its not in the window? Is there a way to make it work?

I have an air conditioner that has a 230v 15a plug which looks like a normal plug except the two connectors are horizontal instead of vertical. I wan to plug this into a regular 115v household outlet. Where can I get a converter so I can do this? Thanks!

I have an LG LP0910WNR portable air conditioner. I have it vented to a window as required. The problem is, in my bedroom (where it is located), my humidity level with go from around 55% to 80% overnight!

The humidity levels definitely go down when the unit is cooling, but when the desired temperature is reached and the unit switches to fan mode the humidity starts to climb. So when I wake up in the morning I get a nice 70 degree room with 80% humidity (yuck).

This is the second portable unit I have bought that I have experienced this issue with (other was an Everstar), is this the norm for portable units? Should I just suck it up and go get a window unit?

Our house has an addition on the back which has its own air conditioning unit, plus we have the air conditioner for the original part of the house. Is it possible to replace these two units with one when the time comes to replace them? Our house is pretty small, around 1750 SF. I’d like to avoid paying for two units if possible. Thanks.

So I got one today and they are pretty loud to loud for me to be able to sleep with it on. so I was curious how long the room would stay cool once the air conditioner is turned off?

Is an air conditioner running four hours a day too long? And how often should filters be changed, and if they are changed or cleaned enough, how often should an air conditioner be replaced?

I live in Southern California where the summer temperatures range from 85-105.
It’s a 2nd story apartment with no insulation and the roof/attic directly above my apt unit.
There are single pane aluminum windows.
-1 large window and 1 mid size window facing south, (afternoon heat)
-1 large tinted window facing east, (sunrise heat)
-1 mid size and 1 large glass door facing north. (no sun)

The space to be cooled includes the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The hallway is completely closed off and not included.

The square footage is 19ftx20ft (380 sq ft)
Due to many windows and no insulation, the room is always sunny even with all of the blinds closed.

Also, I currently own a newer 10,000BTU LG air conditioner and it seems it hardly cools no more than a 5-10 degree difference from the outside temp during the day (On a 105 degree day like today, it cools no more than 95 degrees in the house). It does cool well at night, but there’s no point in that because it gets nice outside and there’s a cold night breeze. This A/C is properly installed on the east end of the house.

I’m assuming an 18,000 BTU would have been a better choice? There is nothing wrong with my current A/C, it works like it should but probably not for this space. I can live with it and I’m going to have to until my new one breaks or I move out which probably won’t be happening anytime soon. I’m just curious as to what BTU’s I would need for this room; it’s not even that big.

I have a Mercury Sable 96 and the air conditioner clutch does not work, I have pushed it with a screwdriver and start working and my car starts to cool down but 15-30 secoinds after that the clucth disconnect by itself. I am thinking is a faulty clutch pressure switch. Could be something else?

Next to the vent is a black lever that will push in or pull out. (Doesn’t toggle vent direction) I don’t know anything about A/C’s and just noticed it.

I’m a college student on a tight budget, but it is hot in my apartment. I can’t have a window air conditioner. What is good for me? Thanks for the help.

The fan works great! But when you turn it to the cool mode it sounds like it is kickin on then just quits trying and all you get is the fan, no cold air. It is a 110 unit and I really want to just keep it do you know what the problem may be

I got this new air conditioner unit like 2 years ago and just recently I have been having problems where it is set on the cool option, it will blow for a few hours, then randomly by itself it will start blowing hot air despite still being on the cool option. I then have to turn it off, wait a while, and keep having to turn it back onto cool to see if it will work properly. It takes a good 5 tries with 15 minutes in between before it starts working.

What causes this?

I’m buying a new air conditioner and I’d like to know what the difference is between a window or stand alone portable air conditioner. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each, and is one more expensive than the other? Thanks!
